Therefore, we do not lose heart! Though outwardly we are washing away, inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary but what is unseen is eternal.

baby, it's cold outside

Poor me. The University canceled class for the rest of the day (yes, I, unlike many of my fortunate friends, have class on Friday... Pharmacy doesn't cater such convenience)- so I am forced to stay at home, update my blog, bake chocolate-chip muffins, paint my fingernails, and finish my book. Sad life, huh? Also, I no longer have to conduct student interviews for Pharmacy Applicant Day tomorrow. So what obligations do I have this weekend? That's right. NONE.

My poor little bird-house-on-a-stick in the flowerbed has ice cicles hanging from it (as you can see). Hopefully the ice won't come too forcefully tonight, although it is probably the only excuse I can come up with to stay in bed for a full day...

I wish I had something better to blog... oh, if you haven't read Crazy Love already, you definitely should.

the end. bye.

the awaited cute african kids

If you have been following me thus far, you might have caught on that my boyfriend spent the past month in Kenya. I am completely unworthy to blog about his personal experiences on his trip, as it was pretty much life-changing... HOWEVER, I have managed to acquire all 500+ pictures he took (or that the kids took)while he was there. Therefore, in cases like today, when I've had a pretty rough day, I will share with you a couple of pictures from his Kenyan adventure for two reasons:
1. The kids are so precious that you can't help but smile.
2. Remind all of us how incredibly blessed we are, and that a bad day really isn't a bad day.

I mean, how can you not smile after that? Everyone happy? Good.

Until later,

ready, set, GO!

Welcome to the GO. Yes- this is the name of our new home. Since I have resided in the DG since sophomore year, you can imagine my bliss of having my own room and most importantly a kitchen. We have plenty of room so please, come visit Em, Beth, and me at our new life.

islander. or maybe a beached whale.

So, if anyone had taken notice that I haven't posted in over a week, I can attribute that to 7 days in the Caribbean. SO many times I wished I had a computer, just to let everyone in on some interesting events, however, I will say a break from cell phones and internet was rather refreshing... just to highlight a couple of things from my trip...

The islands were absolutely beautiful- we visited...
COCOCAY, BAHAMAS

ST. THOMAS

.... and my personal favorite, ST. MAARTEN (the Dutch side, the French side was a bit... "bare" if you know what I mean...

There was an incredible BEATLES show(if you didn't already know, I'm a HUGE Beatles fan). I usually say that people shouldn't even try to impersonate the Beatles, however, these guys were surprisingly spectacular. They even have the same mannerisms and everything.
We had PAUL and GEORGE

and of course, RINGO and JOHN

Every night we had a new towel animal...

Along with some form of a dance party on the top deck...
Our nights also consisted of accompanying our friends Bro and Bre (nicknames of course, you know me), to the Karaoke bar to watch people make fools of themselves. I wish SO bad that I had a picture of the pirate girl dancer. Every time someone would sing, she would find it of utmost importance to provide interpretive movement (i believe she was aiming at some form of dance, who knows?) She was probably around 19 and always had on a pirate hat and cowboy boots... Erin has a video- I'll be sure to post it later.

But most of all, the trip was mainly for RELAXATION. Something Van (my dear father) always makes a point to do.

Good thing he doesn't read my blog... he wouldn't like that very much :)

*Oh, and on a side note, I have also decided that i would one day like to own a sailboat.

anyway- that's it for now, some more stories to come later :)

HAPPY NEW YEAR

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
New years eve was spent with friends at Harrison's and consisted of many of my favorite things... bonfire, SMORES,sparklers, wonderful company, and the new love of my life, JACK. (see below).

It had been so dark outside that even the pre-flash of my camera blinded both jack and me!

My new years eve wouldn't have been complete without some form of crisis- so no worries- we took care of that by getting elena's car stuck in the mud- it wasn't going anywhere... i will say my favorite part was watching will, chase, and harrison trying every possible arrangement of cardboard and 2x4's in a daring attempt to get it out... i think elena's dad got it out this morning- so we're good!

I also want to apologize (to my maybe 4 readers) that i will not be posting again until around January 11... I will be crusin' with the fam. More about that when i return! Again, HAPPY NEW YEAR!
