Therefore, we do not lose heart! Though outwardly we are washing away, inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary but what is unseen is eternal.

Thermal weather

Today was THERMAL WEATHER!

Chad and I worked the Red Beans & Rice festival today! It was super chilly this morning... but I always invite temperatures calling for scarves :)

So much I love about fall... one of my absolute FAVORITE things about fall/winter is a good bonfire.  Wednesday night we had chilli and s'mores at Dr. Bloodworth's house.

Other fall favorites include football... however it has been putting my husband in a HORRIBLE mood.

In other news, I was inspired by  MCK and bought these this week:
I had to buy some "grown-up-comfortable-to-wear-standing-up-all-day" shoes... which aren't very exciting, so I had to balance them with a little fun.  I'm pretty pumped about them :)

But that's all this girl knows.  Currently watching Hocus Pocus with Dela! Happy early Halloween!

FALLing behind.

Currently: It's raining cats and dogs outside ... watching Dan In Real Life (perhaps because it was so weird that Steve Carell wasn't on the Office last night), and drinking some hot tea:).  No, Dan in Real Life and The Holiday are my "leave on in the background movies" during the fall and winter. YouTube doesn't have the Murderer of Love scene, but it's my personal favorite... I laugh hysterically every time.

Life lately:

In other words, I've been a bit "on-the-go," and have fallen behind on my posts. Unfortunately, I have officially lost my camera USB cord... I've been looking for over a month now but finally broke down and ordered one from Amazon today... sadly all of my fun pictures are stuck on my camera so I'll have to post what little I've taken with my phone.

Two weeks ago, my lovely step-sister got married to a space man!  Ok, not literally an astronaut, just a rocket scientist.  So now she's living in Hunstsville and playing wifey.  The wedding was absolutely GORGEOUS.  Unfortunately, most of my pictures are trapped on my big camera, so I'll post what little I have:

She got married literally in the middle of nowhere... but at this lovely place... hidden between the foothills of the Smokies and overlooking the Ocoee.

It was really a perfect weekend... visited with family all day and danced all night.  Got to spend time with these cuties:

But somehow... they've taken to Chad lately and they give him much more attention than they do me...
He really does eat it up... if you can't tell what Caylee's sign says, it says "Chad is Awesome."

Erin incorporated this photobooth at the reception and it was so fun... I'd have to say the older guests (or should I say elderly guests) enjoyed it more than the kids... especially since you were able to take home your own little film strip...

Mamaw was my personal favorite (you know, the crazy white-headed woman who ruled the dance floor at my reception).... she took about 58375637293763 pictures in the photobooth that night, but these are some of my favorite:

Haha #3 is Chad's favorite... I think Jan's friends were trying to kiss her on each cheek but Mamaw didn't get that memo (obviously)...  she's always been known as a kisser...

As soon as I get my cord, I'll post some pictures of the most important... the BRIDE.  Until then, I stole my favorite facebook pic...
MRS. KIMBERLIN, everybody!  Haha she was pretty pumped about that pronouncement!

Oh, and I loved her flowers...

There's nothing like a little post-wedding recovery the next morning with some coffee and a fireside chat.  Chattanooga is truly beautiful, especially in the fall. I'm so thankful to call it part home.
mmmmm love fall.

fresh air

This weekend absolutely wonderful... first weekend in a long time that I could close my books and not feel guilty for doing so...  really needed the fresh air!

Friday night, we went to the Madison Central Homecoming game to see Elena's girls dance... If you weren't aware, Elena is the dance team sponsor of "The Mystics"... she has been working really hard and it was so much fun to see where she's been spending her time!

The remainder of the weekend included...
Sharing taco soup (Traci's recipe, of course) with dear friends...

Chad's Saturday mornin' special...

My first trip to the MS Farmer's Market....

And a delicious Saturday night dinner at Babalu  :)

We've spent almost this entire Sunday afternoon with Jack, Kate, Sawyer, Lock, Saeed, Juliet, Charlie, Claire, Hurley and the rest of the LOST crew.  I'm so obsessed, it's really bad... We are nearing the end of season 3... I'm so excited that there are like 5 more seasons to watch after this one. I haven't been this attached to something since I read all the Harry Potter's two summers ago...
SO. GOOD.

Anyway, hope you all had a spectacular weekend as well!

thankful.

Tonight I am thankful.

I am thankful that I'm on my sofa next to my husband who is  half asleep with "Bill Cosby Himself" on in the background...

I am thankful I shared a dinner of warm taco soup with dear friends
I am thankful for fun fall visitors who bring back the comfort of college

I am most thankful for the opportunity I have had to truly understand dependence, trust, and most importantly GRACE over the past 7 weeks.

Its been long, its been hard, its been emotional, and at times, it has seemed impossible.  Although I  have felt struck down... I am not destroyed.
