Before you read, I have a DISCLAIMER: my life is not full of sunny days, cake-eating, Christmas lights, sunsets, and celebrations.... I have bad days just like everyone else- I just choose to blog about the good ones. So I hope my blog doesn't give a false idea of me having a life of constant "sunshine and happiness." Sometimes when I read other blogs, I fantasize about that writer's "perfect life," her adorable children and her fabulously decorated house-- when in truth, I'm sure she's just as scattered and all over the place as I am. My dear Lay (Leah), says it so well in her most recent post.... if you're an avid blog reader, check it out- it's a great reminder! READ LEAH HERE!
Anyway- since I've been away from the blog world, I will fill you in up to now. Obviously much more than this has happened, but here are a few highlights...
Got to celebrate my Dad's 51st birthday! WOO HOO VAN!
We then continued the family tradition of SEE ROCK CITY CHRISTMAS! A year doesn't pass by that we don't go to the top of Lookout for the most wonderful lights, hot chocolate, kettle corn, and Christmas Carrol's. It's just wonderful. Chad joined in this year- since he is about to be family and all...
In Tupelo (and everywhere else I believe), we had a HUGE snow! Traci (my mother) was really excited to make her Hotty Toddy snowman! (and with help from her neighborhood crew).
It also came quite a snow in Chattanooga as well... even four days after, Dad and I had to park at the very bottom of the driveway (our driveway is unusually tall and extremely steep), and hike up to the house. I will say the view was great- it takes a while for 12 inches of snow to melt up there...even a week later!
But it sure makes for a pretty sunset!
This was also the first time that Chad and I have spent New Year's together...
And what made it even MORE wonderful was that we shared it with THESE FOLKS, who's momma's brother's sister-in-law's best friend's uncle's co-worker's niece's neighbor's dad's brother in law, said... HAPPY NEW YEAAAAH!:
To close out January, Chad and I made a trip to Little Rock to celebrate his birthday... Dana and I went into 10 stores.. yes 10 stores on Saturday. Bless her, she lives with all boys- I think she needed that! We had a great time and registered at several different places- which was so much fun but somewhat overwhelming for a girl who struggles with indecisiveness... I also got to watch this guy play some serious basketball-
ATTENTION ALL SINGLE LADIES (perhaps those a few years younger than me): There are still 2 very single Berry boys.. and that cutie in the white basketball jersey is JACK BERRY- the next to oldest of the three brothers. Talk about an athlete, this guy was shooting 3's like it's his job.. and making every one! He has seen the light and will be coming to Ole Miss next year... so be on the lookout. Vann will be coming shortly after, so the Ole Miss campus will be graced with two Berry boys at the same time... Vann is a runner, and very much like Chad- so obviously he's awesome. Anyway.. just thought I'd let y'all know...
We finished off the weekend celebrating the big 23 for Chad.... wow we are getting so old...
And here we are on January 28th, well it's now the 29th, and I must admit... I've had a case of "January" today... you know what I mean. January is always kinda... I don't know, the "after Christmas blues" as Em calls it. You're cold, have a runny nose, you're broke, and realizing you have a long semester of classes and tests in front of you. But on a positive note, its a new year to be thankful for, and a new year that will bring all kinds of surprises and fun. I, for one, believe 2011 holds great things, and I cannot wait to experience them.
Now, speaking of great things, on to my waffle with nutella, strawberries, whipcream, and blueberries (#2 for tonight). Yep. that's my kind of late-night!
