Well, nothing says under the weather better than a z-pack, cough syrup, and hot tea. One could say I feel bad, but... there are a few things that make me feel good no matter how sick I am... Today's remedy (along with the obvious over-prescribed azithromycin) is the thought of June and perhaps dancing to something a little like this:
It just makes me feel good.
Thanks Lay.

Defeated?
If you regularly read my blog, you know what this means. For those of you who don't, I always post one of Chad's sweet Kenyan kid pictures when I've had a bad day.
I have told several people today that I feel defeated.
DEFEAT: \di-ˈfēt, dē-\
To destroy, to conquer, to beat.
So what defeated me? On a technical level: a piece of paper. Funny how that one thing, seemingly harmless, has somehow received the title of a winner, someone who has defeated someone else. Really? A piece of paper?
The thing is, you see, is that piece of paper (with a not so awesome grade on it) did not win anything on its own capabilities- I mean, its an inanimate object- it can't "destroy", it can't "conquer", it can't "beat" anything or anyone. Someone has to enable it to do that. Someone has to give it that title. In a real defeat, there is something or someone lost... land, a title, a country, an identity. Yeah, your feelings can be hurt, you might fall behind in a race, and yeah, you are going to fail a test every now and then- but are you really defeated? Am I really defeated?
"Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? As it is written: "For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered." No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."- Romans 8:35-39
Defeated? I think NOT.
Don't let a case of the Monday's get you down.

love
There has been a whole lot going on lately... Showers, a Charty, new engagements... I have much to update the blog world on, but I didn't want to take away from these Huangness people. I had so much fun photographing these two lovebirds last weekend. They are truly the happiest couple I've ever seen-obviously because Carmen's mouth is open an eyes are closed in almost ever picture.
More to come soon!
