Therefore, we do not lose heart! Though outwardly we are washing away, inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary but what is unseen is eternal.

i like the way you hung the moon... uh huh

Drew Holcomb played at Proud Larry's earlier this week... just wonderful.  His wife Ellie has the most incredible voice. This is a favorite :)

i like the way you hung the moon, uh huh.
well i just like being close to you, uh huh.
when you're gone i feel so blue, uh huh.
yeah, i like the way you hung the moon uh huh.

i like the way you know that dance, uh huh.
i like the way you hold my hand, uh huh.
just spin me all across the floor, uh huh.
yeah, i like the way you know that dance, uh huh.

well i like the way you sing your songs, uh huh.
you've been singing to me all along, uh huh.
the way you loved me won my heart, uh huh.
yeah, i like the way you sing your songs, uh huh.

i put on that white dress for you, uh huh.
i don't preach or marry but yes i do, uh huh.
i'll stay and i'll grow gray with you, uh huh.
yeah, i put on that white dress for you, uh huh.

when the rain comes...

So I could choose to have a bad attitude about the rain.  Yes, rain, you are ruining Double Decker weekend.  You are taking away my favorite day in Oxford ALL YEAR.  The art vendors, the pottery, the great food, the awesome music, the joy of walking around the square with all the sweet families and newly weds with their dogs...  the whole atmosphere.  I will choose to be grateful for this time to rest.

When the rain comes, there are several things I like to do:
1. Get in my pajamas.  This is essential to enjoying the remainder of the night.  From there, anything can happen... reading, watching a movie, pillow talk, or even a game of cards...

2.  Have breakfast for dinner.  This is either because I love waffles any time, all the time... OR because it's the only thing I have in my house to eat.  Either way, its win-win situation.
3. Catch up on all the good wedding talk- it's almost that time of year.  My best friend is getting married June 12th and I love hearing about everything.  In fact, she is having "wedding workshop" tonight... I think this  means addressing invitations.  Unfortunately I will not be making the trip to Tupelo with her to aid in this process. Bad moh I am!
The night will probably consist of writing a paper and studying for my tests next week... but neither of those deserve a picture.

The best news?  NO MORE POLLEN. Hoooooray!

on a beauitful day..

i just want to play.

Oxford has been absolutely perfect this week.  Flowers are blooming EVERYWHERE. I love how spring just surprises you- it comes all at once and in full force. I wish I could photograph every moment on a pretty spring day just so I could feel it all year round.   I'm looking forward to my drive home today- I always take the scenic route (if you call endville, ms scenic..)  just so I can drive by country roads- maybe even to see a few wildflowers in bloom!

Speaking of photographs... I stumbled upon yet another treasure in  my grandmothers basement- except that it brought about an entire pathway of discovery!  I found 2 old cameras... around 1930ish- awesome I know.  When it occurred to Chacha that I was (in the words of MCK) "swooning" over old cameras, she took me up to the old drug store that had belonged to my great grandfather and then my grandfather and let me at the old camera collection.  They sold cameras in the Pharmacy from 1930's until around the 80's.  Among my favorite finds is a super awesome polaroid.  I've yet to order the film, but I CANNOT wait to have fun with it.  I love how it just spits them out!
This is actually the exact camera- I believe its a late 80's/early 90's model.  Classic.
Polaroids are just fun.

When I get a chance, I'll post some of the super old ones!  They are incredible!  I believe one was from the 20's or 30's.  Definitely doesn't work and the quality would be terrible, but it's really cool to see how far we've advance with film.  Although the digital editing available today is convenient and truly remarkable, there is still much to be said for those photographers who can capture the perfect moment, in perfect time, with the natural essence and light to truly make one feel "there."  (That most definitely is not me... I need my photo-shop crutch.)

Off to Tupelo... have to purchase a car tag for my new car.. this should be fun and breaking.
until later,
HART

taking suggestions

So I've recently decided to make a website for my photography.  Mainly just for fun, but also just to get it out there a little.  Don't get me wrong, I love taking pictures for free, but I think I might start a little business.  Having that said, I am in need of a website name... I'll appreciate any and all suggestions.  Go ahead, you can make a pun out of my name... not guaranteeing I'll use it, though! Also, if you know of any great places to make a website, let me know.  I'll need all the help I can get.  Thanks to all 6ish of my readers :)

getaway

What is more inviting than a screen porch over the lake, eight of the most genuine girls, the arley coffee shop, and pretzels with nutella?  I couldn't think of anything, either!  Last weekend was the most refreshing weekend I've had all year.  This was the second annual girls lake weekend with my Jackson Hole/Miami/Italy friends. We basically sit in this porch, share, drink coffee, and have an occasional dance break.

This weekend last year was when I entered the blog world.  My dear friend Mary Catherine introduced me to my favorite Stay Forever Sunday blog.  You can also read MCK at Lillies and Sparrows

This year's discovery:
obsession would be an understatement.
