Therefore, we do not lose heart! Though outwardly we are washing away, inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary but what is unseen is eternal.

june.

It occurred to me today that on Sunday, it will be JULY. Seriously? Time has just flown on by... I guess I've just been too busy to notice. I've....

"Roughed it" at a pharmacy conference...

Celebrated my sweet MERRY LEE getting married....

Had an awesome first pharmacy rotation (unfortunately no pictures there.... ha)

Oh, and WE ARE OFFICIALLY HOME-OWNERS!!! Look's like we are here to stay (at least for a little while). I'll be sure to entertain you with moving stories... I think I recall a certain Chad Berry saying less than a year ago, "I am NOT moving again until I have enough money to hire someone to do it for me!"  Well, we are definitely moving and we definitely don't have enough (any) money to hire someone to do it for us.  Fun times ahead!

insta-weekend

A little weekend in review (courtesy of instagram)...

Friday night: game night

Saturday: Lunch celebrating Merry Lee... Elliot soon-to-be!

Saturday night:  We celebrated Kat Ross and Rob!

AND I got to spend time (on the dance floor) with this girl:

Sunday: Brunch with the Berry's followed by a lazy afternoon.

Now that's my kind of weekend.

Headed to the beach on Wednesday... Unfortunately without these two...
I'll be attending some pharmacy CE's but I definitely plan on mixing some business with some R&R! I already have my beach chair and beach read ready to go!

Ah, the joys of summer!

look books and mornings.

So I have two things I'm really into these days...

One of these things is nothing new.... Coffee table books.  Contrary to most people, I actually look through my coffee table books.  Very often. Yes, I've seen every single picture a million times, but I see something new every time.  Here are a couple of my favorites (as seen on my coffee table):

A little Mississippi love...

Guilty: I usually use any Anthro gift cards on coffee table books. These two seem similar but have such great ideas!

Of course, the beloved Domino....
And my personal favorite:

I have mentioned this book before, but it brings me to my newest interest... the morning. "Early morning hours, before the hustle and bustle of the day commences, are the perfect time to enjoy a sense of renewal and vitality."  Two women who lived across the country from one another shared a blog and posted a picture every morning for one year- and now its a book! It is really neat... it is pictures only but really inspires you to get up and appreciate the stillness of the morning.   I have never been a morning person, but lately I've been waking up around 5:30 just to have a few hours to start my day... completely stress free and in no rush.  It's so worth it. I love the sunrise, I love the chirps, I love the stillness...  I have time to wake up slowly, sip on some coffee or tea, spend some time with the Lord, go on a walk and/or jog with Herbert, eat breakfast, and take a long hot shower.  I will say it is much easier on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings than on Monday or Friday (as demonstrated this past week), but it is something that I am really starting to to enjoy.  I highly doubt my mother would believe this is happening, especially after years of begging me to get out of bed in the mornings after 10 snoozes and with my horrible morning attitude... But as of lately, who knows... I might turn out to be a MORNING PERSON... just maybe.

Set your alarm, don't hit snooze (ok, maybe just once), and get on up. It's worth it, I tell ya!

Here's to mornings!

The New Saturday

I'm enjoying what I call "the new Saturday"... a Saturday that I can do whatever I want with nothing [pressing] on my shoulders to do.  This Saturday is actually one of the few Saturday's that Chad and I will be in town for the summer, so we have made the most of it by getting things done and mixing some appointments with some fun.

This morning Chad ran a race (Herbert and I were just spectators)... 5K for the Fatherless.  It was a run to raise money for 200 Million Flowers... If you aren't familiar with that organization, they are a non-profit devoted to promoting the importance of adoption and bringing awareness to the need for healthy and happy homes for children in our state.  They focus on putting children in need into loving homes. Chad ran this morning and despite his recent knee surgery, he was the overall 1st place winner.  I often forget how good of a runner he is... I was a very proud wife :)

Here's to new Saturdays!

Happy New Saturday to YOU!
