Therefore, we do not lose heart! Though outwardly we are washing away, inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary but what is unseen is eternal.

silver white winters that melt into spring

As I previously mentioned, I found quite the hidden treasure in my grandmother's basement this weekend...
It goes just right on the little table next to my bed...
So my Sunday has been simply delightful... it was "shower sunday" and so enjoyable.  Wonderful food, great friends, and some giddy bride-to-be's.  The rest of my Sunday has been fairly relaxing with the help of one of my all-time favorite movies:  THE SOUND OF MUSIC.  You know its one of your favorites too... Who doesn't love a vivacious Julie Andrews running through fields and mountains bursting out in song?  I know I do.

Maybe my next post will be about a few of my favorite things...

until then,

please forgive me if my blog jumps out in crazy colors over the next couple of days. i'm remodeling.  open to suggestions, of course :)

S-A-T-U-R-D-A-Y

So I WISH so badly that I could show a picture of my new vintage red lamp that I oh-so-happily stumbled upon in Chacha's basement.Whenever I return to my beloved camera, you will be seeing it.

As for tonight, mom and I grabbed some sushi and randomly decided to let mom's hair stylist, Megan, give us a "new-do" (or haircut if you will) before we caught the late movie.  Talk about spontaneity.  Now, it is 2:03 am and we just got our brownies out of the oven.

Tomorrow is a shower Sunday.  two showers. two hours.  Definitely excited for Callie and Heather getting married this summer!

Last Sunday we welcomed Baby Balducci!  My dear friend Ellen, who has also been my Discipler for the past 4 years, is expecting in April!  We don't know what Baby Balducci will be yet, but we can't wait to find out!

My discipleship group and I got Ellen my new favorite baby accessory:  This absolutely adorable mobile with crochet bluebirds to match the nursery.  This picture seriously does not do it justice.  It. was. precious.

I hate not having my camera around- what are you thinking, hart?"A picture's worth 1000 words."
then end,

Romance and the like...

So here it is... Valentine's Weekend.  Although it's overdone, I still think it's fun.  Chad and I went on our Valentine's Date on Wednesday night since he'll be running in Texas this weekend.  We had a spectacular dinner at the Ravine- which is this bed and breakfast/super nice restaurant on the outskirts of Oxford.  They had not a "topless" menu (which Chad called it), but one in which  you ordered around 6 different plates and had a little bit of everything. DE-LI-CIOUS.  We then came back to my condo, made cookies and had hot chocolate :)  He also surprised me with an interpretive dance (you'd really have to know Chad to appreciate this.. but needless to say, it was hysterical).  I have yet to post much about Chad, so I will have to show you a picture of us both.  I mean, it is almost Valentine's Day!

This picture was taken in NY and pretty much describes our relationship... interpret how you wish. So tonight, I am joining the singles club and going to see the new movie VALENTINES DAY with my good friend Carmen. Then I'm debating on whether or not to go to the Pharmacy/Law/Graduate School swap.  It's a red light/green light party.  It doesn't sound fun for people in a relationship if you don't break your significant other.  You see, the premise of this is:  if you're in a relationship, you wear red; if you're single, wear green; if "it's complicated", wear yellow.  So clearly I'd need to wear red, but I mean, that's like wearing a sign on my forehead saying, "DON'T TALK TO ME!"  So I'm thinking I may opt for a good night of studying Pathology.

Anyway, I hope you spend some quality time with those you love, whether its your family, best girlfriends, or your boyfriend.
HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY (a little early!)

weekend getaway

There's nothing like a good weekend getaway to a GREAT PLACE...

With WONDERFUL COMPANY... (this is only one of the wonderful 12 girls I was with in which i shared a one-bedroom apartment... Leah gets the privilege of being posted because A. We shared a twin air mattress and B.I unfortunately didn't take a picture of the whole group with my camera).

With YUMMY EATS... (only one of the tasty places we ate... brunch is maybe my favorite meal... not to mention the great atmosphere... I am so glad someone is smart enough to make a coffee shop big enough for everyone to enjoy at the same time).

And of course, UNNECESSARY SHOPPING.

I should inform you that I have an extremely lustful relationship with Anthropologie.. but I mean, who doesn't? Guess I can't feel bad. I did really good this time- only bought a headband and a candle (which I left in someone's car, so it now resides in Starkville, MS). I just love Voluspa candles... you should definitely invest in one.

Anyway- I suggest that you take a random, spur-of-the-moment road trip soon. Simply refreshing. Next time I'll have to tell you about my dear step-sister's spur of the moment NASA trip. Now it's time for my Valentine's Date with my track-runner-who-is-never-home-on-the-weekend-boyfriend.
